Looking for a pair of riding glasses that work just as well at the beach or pool as they do on the bike? Our suggestion for the best everyday glasses is the Wiley X Brick.
Wiley X is a great brand that began making safety glasses for the military. They also produce Harley-Davidson branded glasses. All of their glasses meet the highest safety standards for impact protection. The Wiley X Brick meets ANSI Z87.1-2015 and CE/EN166 standards. They also offer 99% UVA/UVB protection.
I personally own two pairs of the Wiley X Brick. I had one with light adjusting lenses and one with the dark gray. I've worn them to work, to and in the pool, at the beach, playing sports, and on the motorcycle. The style, fit, and comfort of the glasses make them fit in anywhere. I've had the light adjusting pair for three years now and they are just as good as they were the first day. My pair with gray lenses I have had for nearly 5 years and I wear them almost everyday and even swim with them on during the summer. After that much use/abuse, one of the rubber pieces on the temple started to pull up. I added a little super glue and figure I'll have another year or two of use left in them.
The Wiley X Brick is a wraparound style pair of sunglasses. They have a matte black finish and dark gray lenses. There are other lens options available with the Brick as well. They are offered in a clear and with a light adjusting lens. If you are looking for an everyday pair of glasses, the dark gray lens is the way to go.
Making a good looking pair of glasses for everyday use isn't that impressive. Making a pair of everyday glasses that are also one of the best pair of riding glasses is noteworthy. The Wiley X Brick a very well made pair of glasses. The temples are nearly completely covered in rubber, which not only adds to comfort, but assures they stay in place. The nose piece is also rubber for the same reason. They offer a fully removable protective face cavity to help protect your eyes from dust and debris while riding. The gasket can be a little tricky to remove and reinstall the first few times you do it, but it is certainly not difficult.
The glasses come with a host of extras. It comes in a very nice zippered hard clam shell case, a cleaning cloth, an adjustable leash cord with rubber temple grips and a very unique "T-Peg" elastic strap. I'm never one to really use straps on glasses. If that's your thing, then you will appreciate these quality straps. I do prefer the T-Peg strap to the leash cord. The elastic strap allows you to wear the Wiley X Brick similar to a pair of goggles. The pick twist and locks into the temple piece in front of your ear. I do not like cords that attach behind the ear, as it just never feels right to me. I can feel it pressing against my head. The way the elastic straps mount mid way up the temple is out of the way and comfortable.
The only downside to one pair of glasses for everyday wear and use on the motorcycle is the fact that they are tinted lenses and you will need a second pair for riding at night. Our suggestion is to pair this very nice pair of everyday riding glasses with our recommendation for the best Cheap Clear Riding Glasses. Keep the clears in your saddle bag so they are always available when the sun goes down. Also, be sure to check out our top pick for Light Adjusting Riding Glasses!
